Work Bangers Construction Inc. is hiring a Material Handler to support our roofing and general contracting crews on residential and commercial sites in Sydney, Cape Breton and across Nova Scotia. No experience required — full on-the-job training is provided.

What you'll do

- Load, unload, and move construction materials between storage areas, job sites, and delivery trucks
- Sort, stack, and organize materials such as lumber, drywall, tools, and hardware in designated locations
- Deliver materials and supplies directly to tradespeople at their work areas
- Use dollies, carts, and safe manual lifting techniques to move heavy or bulky items
- Keep work areas clean and safe — remove debris, sweep, and organize material storage zones
- Record material movements and assist with basic inventory tracking
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly stored and accounted for at the end of the workday
- Follow all safety standards, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper lifting techniques

What we're looking for





- No formal education required; a high school diploma is an asset
- No previous experience necessary — on-the-job training is provided
- Physical strength and endurance to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the day
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of construction materials and site safety protocols is an asset
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills

Job details

- Locations: various residential and commercial construction sites in Sydney, Cape Breton and other locations across Nova Scotia
- Work setting: indoor and outdoor construction sites; physically demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, and repetitive motion, with exposure to varying weather conditions and job site hazards

Pay: From $17.50 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
