About the Role

Kent Metal Products is seeking a full time entry-level Metal Fabricator to join our Vancouver fabrication shop. This is a hands-on training position that supports our full production flow, from laser-cut parts through deburring, press brake setup, fitting, grinding, and powder coat preparation. You will work alongside experienced fabricators, laser operators, and press brake operators while building the skills to become a fully qualified fabricator.

Mechanical aptitude is required, and fabrication experience is an asset. Full training is provided. This is a strong chance for someone who wants to build a long-term career in the trade.

Key Responsibilities

- Laser-Cut Part Handling: Collect cut parts, remove microtabs, verify counts, and organize parts for bending or welding.
- Material Staging: Prepare raw material, label job travelers, and stage components for the laser, press brake, and welding stations.
- Press Brake Support: Assist operators with tool changes, part alignment, and bending operations.
- Grinding & Deburring:



Clean edges, remove slag, and prepare surfaces for welding or powder coating.
- Fitting & Assembly: Assist with clamping, aligning, and tack welding components.
- General Shop Support: Maintain clean, organized work areas, move materials, empty scrap bins, and support senior fabricators as needed.

What You Will Learn

- Blueprint Reading: Interpret drawings for laser nests, press brake programs, and weld assemblies.
- CNC Workflow Fundamentals: Understand how laser cutting, forming, and welding connect in a production environment.
- Press Brake Fundamentals: Bend sequencing, tooling selection, and angle verification.

Qualifications

- Mechanical aptitude (required)
- Fabrication or shop experience (an asset)
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior team members

Pay: From $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
