Commercial or Residential Woodworking industry Experience is Required!

Full-Time | On-Site (Mississauga, ON)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Millwork Technician – Material Take-Off to support our Engineering and Production teams by preparing accurate material take-offs from architectural drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications.

In this role, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting architectural and shop drawings and specifications, identifying materials required for projects, and preparing accurate material take-offs for ordering. Proficiency in AutoCAD, strong knowledge of millwork materials and assembly techniques, and excellent attention to detail are essential for this role.

Experience in an architectural millwork environment is considered an asset, as many projects involve custom millwork, cabinetry, and other architectural finishes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage information, maintaining notes, documentation and making sure your questions are answered when needed utilizing our internal ERP system.
- Accurately prepares material take-offs and estimates in a timely manner, meeting all deadlines
- Read and understand Architectural drawings, site dimensions, site photos, etc.
- Understand the project requirements and collaborating with different teams to produce the drawings efficiently, on budget and on time.
- Review plans, specifications and other documentation
- Strive to meet and exceed our customers’ requirements.
- Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation
- Work with Purchasing to negotiate material pricing and vendor agreements
- Work closely with Project Managers, Programmers and various other levels of Management.

ABILITIES

- Ability to multitask and attention to detail
- Excellent communications skills - interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.
- Able to generate layout drawings, sketches and specifications.




- Familiar with design parameters related to architectural in woodworking
- Knowledgeable of standard drafting practices and procedures.
- Able to figure out what material is used with various products
- Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Commercial or Residential Architectural Millwork experience considered as an asset
- Previous experience in purchasing is considered a strong asset
- Proficiency with Auto cad
- Previous experience in Millwork / woodworking material take offs considered a strong asset
- Good knowledge with various wood materials, fabrication methods
- Excel (Proficient - Advanced)
- Self-driven and ability to work independently
- Some shop/ machining experience is preferred
- Knowledge of AWMAC Standards is preferred
