The Network Administrator is responsible for the availability, security, performance, and lifecycle management of SPS’s wired, wireless, internet, WAN, and network-security infrastructure. The position designs, implements, monitors, documents, and supports network services required for office, warehouse, production, cloud, voice, and mobile operations.

The Network Administrator serves as a senior technical escalation resource, leads infrastructure improvements, coordinates vendors and service providers, supports cybersecurity and business-continuity activities, and provides secondary assistance with server, virtualization, cloud, and end-user technologies. The position requires hands-on work in office, production, warehouse, and outdoor environments and participation in scheduled after-hours maintenance and emergency support.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Operations and Engineering

- Administer switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, access points, VPNs, internet circuits, and related network services.
- Maintain reliable and secure LAN, WAN, WLAN, internet, cloud, voice, and partner connectivity.
- Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, routing, switching, spanning tree, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, QoS, PoE, and wireless services.
- Monitor availability, performance, capacity, latency, packet loss, utilization, and hardware health.
- Diagnose complex connectivity and performance problems and complete root-cause analysis.
- Maintain current firmware, supported configurations, backups, warranties, subscriptions, and licenses.
- Plan network capacity, lifecycle replacements, redundancy, and technology improvements.

Network Security

- Administer firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, network access control, segmentation, secure management access, and related security technologies.
- Review network-security alerts and assist with incident containment, investigation, recovery, and documentation.
- Apply approved security baselines, least-privilege principles, change controls, and vulnerability-remediation practices.
- Maintain separation and appropriate access between production, corporate, wireless, guest, voice, server, and management networks.
- Coordinate security requirements with HLNA, Honda, service providers, and approved third parties.

Network Security

- Lead or contribute to switch, wireless, firewall, fibre, cabling, rack, UPS, internet, and infrastructure modernization projects.
- Coordinate contractors and validate that installations meet SPS standards.
- Conduct site assessments and participate in wireless and wired coverage planning.




- Maintain network diagrams, rack elevations, cable and port records, inventories, circuit records, and recovery documentation.
- Develop technical recommendations, project plans, implementation plans, back-out plans, and post-implementation documentation.
- Assist with budgeting, procurement, licensing, vendor evaluation, and lifecycle planning.

Operational Support

- Provide senior escalation support for network, server, communications, production, and infrastructure incidents.
- Support VMware, Nutanix, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, IBM iSeries, backup, and telephone technologies as assigned.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance, on-call support, and emergency response.
- Record incidents, changes, assets, and technical work using approved SPS processes.
- Share knowledge and provide technical guidance to other ISD associates.

Qualifications:

Required

- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five or more years of progressively responsible enterprise-networking or infrastructure experience.
- Current CCNA certification or equivalent demonstrated enterprise-networking knowledge.
- Strong practical knowledge of switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networking, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting highly available business or production environments.
- Experience with network monitoring, configuration backup, documentation, and change management.
- Strong knowledge of network-security principles and secure infrastructure administration.
- Ability to coordinate vendors, manage technical projects, communicate outages, and prepare clear documentation.
- Ability to participate in scheduled after-hours maintenance and emergency support.

Qualifications – Preferred

- CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, or comparable advanced networking experience.
- Experience with Cisco Meraki or comparable cloud-managed networking.
- Experience with network access control, privileged-access management, IDS/IPS, SD-WAN, and redundant internet connectivity.




- Experience with VMware vSphere Foundation or VMware Cloud Foundation.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, IBM iSeries, VoIP, UPS systems, and enterprise backup technologies.
- Experience in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, or another operationally critical environment.
- PowerShell, Python, API, or infrastructure-automation experience.
- ITIL or formal service-management experience.
- Structured-cabling, fiber, wireless-survey, lift, or fall-protection training where applicable.

Working Conditions Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Occasionally required to work on the production floor in a non-climate controlled setting or outside in varying weather conditions.
