Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Specialist to join our team. In this vital role, you will champion workplace safety initiatives, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and foster a culture of safety awareness across our operations. Your expertise will help maintain a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors while supporting our commitment to operational excellence.

Duties

- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies tailored to our drilling operations and manufacturing environments
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards
- Deliver comprehensive training sessions on safety procedures, equipment handling, and emergency response protocols
- Investigate workplace incidents thoroughly, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions
- Collaborate with management to ensure compliance with local occupational health and safety regulations and standards
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections,



incident reports, and compliance documentation
- Promote safety awareness through ongoing communication campaigns and engagement activities
- Maintain and manage health & safety metrics to complete H&S; management platforms (ISNetworld, etc.) and annual subcontractors questionnaires

Experience
- Proven experience in occupational health and safety within manufacturing or drilling environments
- Strong knowledge of local health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective training programs focused on safety & development
- Familiarity with conducting risk assessments and incident investigations
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with diverse teams at all levels
- Ability to analyze complex situations quickly and implement practical solutions

Education

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:
- Industrial/Construction H&S;: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
- Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professional (BCRSP) (preferred)
