On-Call Snow Plow Operator

We are seeking reliable and experienced On-Call Snow Plow Operators to join our team for the upcoming snow removal season.

This is a seasonal, on-call position. Operators will be contacted as needed during snow and ice events and must be available to respond on short notice, including during evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays.

The successful candidate will safely and efficiently operate snow plow trucks and other snow removal equipment to clear roads, parking lots, walkways, and other designated areas.

Responsibilities

- Operate snow plow trucks and snow removal equipment during snow and ice events.
- Clear snow and ice from roads, parking lots, driveways, walkways, and other designated areas.
- Apply salt, sand, and other de-icing materials as required.
- Respond to call-outs and be prepared to work extended or overnight shifts during significant snow events.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of snow removal equipment.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Report equipment issues, hazards, or property concerns promptly.
- Follow all company safety procedures and secure operating practices.
- Assist with general landscaping and property maintenance duties when required.

Qualifications
- Previous experience operating snow plow trucks and/or snow removal equipment.
- Valid driver's licence and a safe driving record.




- Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in cold, snowy, and changing weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Ability to work independently and respond to call-outs on short notice.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays during snow events.
- Landscaping experience, including irrigation, construction/building, gardening, or general landscape maintenance, is considered an asset.

This is an on-call seasonal position, with hours dependent on snowfall and weather conditions. There may be opportunities for additional work during the winter season and throughout the year.

Education

- Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:
- Landscape maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
