Job Overview:

Midland Food is a dynamic and growing seafood wholesale distributor serving the Greater Toronto Area. We specialize in delivering high-quality frozen seafood and food products to restaurants, retail markets and other food service businesses.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on role suited for a candidate who is operationally robust, detail-oriented and capable of working in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise warehouse and logistics departments to ensure efficient receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch processes
- Oversee logistics planning to ensure timely and cost-effective distribution
- Responsible for the general maintenance of the property, including warehouse facilities and equipment maintenance (racking, freezer units, forklifts, dock equipment and related systems)
- Oversee vehicle maintenance to ensure no interruption to business operations
- Monitor inventory levels, stock accuracy and product movement, ensuring proper stock rotation and minimizing shrinkage




- Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cost control and service quality
- Assist the General Manager in implementing operational procedures, SOPs and internal controls
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, company policies, and industry standards, including health and safety, food safety and transportation

Qualifications

- 3 - 5 years of experience in a leadership role such as Operations Manager or Warehouse Manager
- Experience in food distribution or wholesale environment is required
- Experience in inventory management and logistics coordination is an asset
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coordinate across multiple functions in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented and results-driven
- Valid forklift license/certification required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
