We are currently seeking a highly motivated, organized, and customer-focused individual to join our team as Operations Manager – Kelowna.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and budget of our Kelowna crossdock facility, including our local distribution fleet and linehaul operations operating from, to, and through Kelowna. This role will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations while maintaining a strong focus on customer service, productivity, cost control, and continuous improvement.

This position reports directly to the Regional Manager, Okanagan.

Responsibilities

- Oversee and manage the safe, accurate, and efficient loading and unloading of freight.
- Manage dock operations, door assignments, and yard fluidity to maximize operational efficiency.
- Oversee local distribution and linehaul operations to ensure service commitments are consistently met.
- Implement and maintain health, safety, security, and operational programs in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Communicate and enforce operational policies, procedures, and best practices with all staff.
- Monitor productivity, service levels, quality, and operating costs, and implement corrective measures where required.
- Develop and implement profit and cost improvement initiatives, including change management plans.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and overall customer service.
- Oversee building-related services and requirements, including signage, cleaning, installations, maintenance, repairs, safety inspections, parking, and snow removal.
- Coordinate and oversee facility improvement and construction projects as required.
- Maintain accurate operational records, files,



reports, and other administrative documentation.
- Recruit, interview, select, train, coach, mentor, manage, and evaluate operations staff.
- Provide leadership and support to the operations team while fostering a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work environment.
- Address employee performance issues, operational challenges, and customer concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Work closely with other departments, including Dispatch, Customer Service, Sales, Safety, and Finance, to ensure seamless operations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable company policies, regulatory requirements, safety standards, and security procedures.
- Maintain effective process controls, productivity measurements, and quality assurance programs.
- Respond to urgent operational issues and make timely decisions to minimize service disruptions.
- Be available to work occasional extended hours as required by operational demands.
- Ability to handle boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications & Key Competencies

- Forklift certification.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

- Ability to prioritize competing demands and meet urgent deadlines.

- Strong understanding of transportation operations, LTL distribution, fleet operations, and warehouse/crossdock processes.
- Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations, health and safety requirements, public safety,



security, and employment practices.
- Strong understanding of customer service principles and the ability to maintain positive customer relationships.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with management and other departments.
- Demonstrated ability to identify operational issues, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions.

Experience

- Minimum 3 years of LTL distribution management experience.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience managing a crossdock, terminal, warehouse, or transportation operation is preferred.
- Experience managing local distribution and/or linehaul operations is considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education or degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred but not required in lieu of relevant experience.

What We Are Looking For The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who is comfortable working in a fast-paced transportation environment and taking ownership of day-to-day operational performance. We are looking for someone who can lead people, solve problems, improve processes, control costs, and deliver a consistently high level of service to our customers.

Hours and Location:

· Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 18:00

· Terminal Location: Kelowna, BC

Remuneration:

· $80,000 to 95,000 per year based on experience
