Looking for a mature, responsible and self-motivated individual for a full-time ophthalmic assistant/medical secretary position for a busy medical office. Must be available immediately. Must have OCT/OPTOS and Visual Field experience.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
-assist ophthalmologists by taking medical histories, measuring eye pressure and visual acuity
-perform diagnostic tests, patient scheduling and exam room preparation
-scheduling patients, administering drops to patients, answering phones, filing, preparing patient charts for upcoming clinic days and pretesting patients prior to their appointment with the doctor
-maintaining patient records by obtaining, recording, and updating personal information
-data entry and faxing of patient information and reports
-other office administrative tasks
Qualifications and Skills
-successful candidate must be highly organized, a quick learner,
have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently and within a team workplace and have a exceptional work ethic
-demonstrated problem-solving skills and initiative overall
-proficient in Excel and typewritten skills

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate
- Hamilton, ON L9C 5R3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
