This is an on-site full-time position based out in our Saskatoon branch and, for a highly motivated professional, has tremendous growth opportunities.

The Overhead & Specialty Door Installation Technician specializes in current overhead doors, dock levellers, fire shutters, sliding grilles & operable wall installations and service repairs. This role requires the ability to work independently and also lead a small crew in safe, successful installations and service.

As an Overhead & Specialty Door Installation Technician, you will be responsible for the following:

· Installation and handling of all types of overhead & specialty door products, and standard hollow metal doors and frames when required

· Installation of overhead doors dock levelers, fire shutters, sliding grilles, operable walls and all components for proper commissioning on site

· Moving, receiving and organizing all materials for scope of work

· Maintain up-to-date, accurate document control processes for the projects, including field reports,



and specifications as required

· Collect, document, and file field data (measurements, pictures, etc.) as required

· Attend site meetings when necessary

· Supervision and training of other on-site labourers

· Accurate estimating of time to complete tasks and adherence to agreed deadlines

· Accurately recording receipt of goods on our sales order in conjunction with hardware or other schedules

· Completes proper paperwork showing the pickup of goods and delivery to site

· Use of company’s vehicle to move product to and from site with adherence to safety standards

· Identifies and communicates any short shipped or damaged product to project coordinator immediately

· Follows company’s procedures as to paper flow, documentation, and packaging for both shipping and receiving on site

· Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma or equivalent, required

· 2-4 years of experience in installation of specialty doors including operators and safety devices

· Carpentry designations are a strong asset

· Welding experience is considered a strong asset

Specific Skills:

· Ability to read and interpret drawings and other construction documents

· Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and resources before and throughout the installation





· Self-motivated with solid willingness and ability to learn and be challenged

· Excellent communication skills in English (written and oral)

· Work is performed in a shop setting with ability to lift up to 50lbs

Certifications/Licenses

· Clean and valid Driver’s License without restrictions is required

· Ability to haul trailers and equipment safely as required

· A successful candidate must be able to work in secured areas requiring a successful criminal background check
