Trico LivingWell – Clover Living:
Clover Living is an Independent Living & 55+ Supportive Living Level 2 accommodation facility for Chinese/Oriental Seniors in Calgary. It provides enriched Independent & Supportive Living accommodation choices, housekeeping, Chinese meals, resident support, wellness and recreational activities, 24/7 Emergency Call Bell service and amenities. Conveniently located in Chinatown with a scenic view of the Bow River and Sien Lok Park, Clover Living offers residents a healthy, vibrant and peaceful community experience.
Job Summary:
Front Desk Department provides 24-hour, 7 days-a-week support to CLOVER LIVING residents, staff, and visitors. The Overnight Concierge must be fluent in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.
The Overnight Concierge provides first contact and safeguarding to all residents and overnight guests. The Night Concierge ensures the main floor and common areas are well maintained, control access to building, monitor CCTV and EV2 systems, conduct checks, as well as report and/or hand over concerns. This position will be the first point of contact in the event of an emergency during silent hours.

- Monitoring the building access and security
- Responding to emergency call bells
- Overseeing activities within CLOVER LIVING
- Supporting and responding to requests of residents, staff, and visitors, and writing up incident reports as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising front entrance access - sign-in/out of residents, visitors, and contractors.
- Provide visible and attentive security presence on the main floor at Front Desk;
- Monitor resident activity within CLOVER LIVING via EV2 and CCTV, providing support and crisis intervention as required;
- Conduct security patrols, complete logs, and prepare reports as required;
- Answer all incoming calls and caller’s inquiries wherever possible and re-direct calls as appropriate;
- Follow instructions to take maintenance responses to minimize damages to building;
- Give clear and concise information during handover at the end of the shift, highlighting any events that have occurred; Write up incident reports as needed
- Check all floors, hallways, common areas, including offices and stairwells for garbage and recycling. This does not include Kitchen or Dining Room.
- Check resident logbook to see if any resident has not returned. Call the room to make sure resident has not missed signing in. Contact family members of those residents that have not returned as per the defined SOPs.
- Clean all offices and empty garbage and recycling containers daily. Ensure all offices are locked upon cleaning completion.
- Shovel snow as needed.
- Keeping all residents information confidential;
- Other duties and tasks as required
Physical Job Requirements: This position requires to be able to:
- Stand for extended periods while greeting visitors, answering phones, and performing front desk duties
- Sit for long periods while handling administrative tasks, such as scheduling and filing
- Move throughout the office or facility to assist guests, direct visitors, and perform various duties in different departments
- Lift up to 15 pounds, such as office supplies, mail, or packages, and assist with setting up or organizing office materials
- Use office equipment such as computers, multi-line phone systems, printers, and fax machines.
Skilled in typing, filing, and handling paperwork efficiently
- Bend, reach, and stretch to organize or retrieve office supplies and documents from shelves, cabinets, or filing systems
- Speak and hear clearly for answering calls, greeting visitors, and interacting with staff, guests, and clients in a qualified manner
- Read documents, schedules, and screens, as well as monitor security cameras or systems when required
- Quickly move between the front desk area and other parts of the building to attend to urgent matters or assist staff and visitors
- Work in a fast-paced office environment, with varying noise levels, and to adapt to high-traffic periods or peak times in guest volume
- Use both hands and feet on a regular basis
- Climb stairs, operate elevators, lift and move small equipment and furniture
Qualifications:
- Front desk/administrative experience in security and customer service preferred
- High school diploma or GED, or an acceptable combination of education & experience
- Basic computer proficiency and experience required
- Current (within 6 months) Police Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Current (within 1 year) influenza vaccination record
- Proficiency in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, both verbally and in writing
- A CPR First Aid certificate is an asset and will be required for the job position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must possess valuable written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer focus skills
- Experience with crisis intervention and problem-solving is considered an asset
- Experience or willingness to gain experience using CCTV security system
Shift Hours: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM (Flexible availability, including weekends and statutory holidays)
