Postdoctoral Scholar

About the Job: The AIDAN Lab is recruiting a combined Postdoctoral Scholar to lead the day-to-day implementation of the Autistic Research on Writing Network, a multisite mixed-methods study involving 150 Autistic adolescents across Canada and the USA.

- Supervisor: Dr. Heather Brown, University of Alberta
- Location: Edmonton, Alberta, with hybrid work
- Term: Eight months at 0.8 FTE, with possible renewal and expansion to full time, contingent on funding
- Salary: $40,000 CAD for the eight-month contract, equivalent to a $75,000 CAD full-time annual salary
- Start date: As soon as possible, negotiated with the successful candidate

The scholar will coordinate recruitment and data collection, oversee research assistants and study protocols, manage ethics and data collection,



collaborate with Autistic co-researchers, and lead or support publications.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

- Recent PhD in Education, Psychology, Communication Sciences, or a related field
- Strong qualitative and/or quantitative research expertise
- Record of autism-related scholarly work
- Must be a resident of Alberta

PREFERRED

- Experience managing complex research
- Working with Autistic youth administering standardized assessments
- Conducting participatory research mentoring neurodivergent trainees
