About the role
You own how Comte shows up in culture: in press, in creator content, in community spaces, and in the group chats we never see. You will build earned attention for a brand whose core customer is 18 to 28, and whose secondary audience is the parents and older siblings buying for 13 to 17 year olds.
This is a builder role, not a maintenance role. We do not have an agency doing the heavy lifting for you.
What you will do
Earned media and press
- Own the media strategy and the full press list across fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and culture verticals, including newer digital outlets and newsletters, not only legacy titles.
- Write and pitch stories that are actually stories: founder angle, material sourcing, design drops, collaborations, cultural moments. Product roundups are a floor, not a ceiling.
- Manage launch moments end to end, including product drops, collaborations, and seasonal campaigns.
- Handle inbound press, interview prep, and spokesperson briefing.
Creator and community
- Build and run the creator program: sourcing, seeding, gifting logistics, briefs, usage rights, and relationship management across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and whichever platform matters six months from now.
- Negotiate paid creator partnerships alongside organic seeding, and know the difference in what each is for.
- Manage community response in comments, DMs, and Discord or Substack if we run them, with a tone that sounds like a person and not a brand deck.
- Spot and amplify UGC, and build systems so it keeps arriving without us begging.
Compliance and brand safety
- Ensure all creator partnerships carry correct disclosure under FTC guidance in the US and ASA rules in the UK, or local equivalents.
- Own our policy for content involving anyone under 18, including guardian consent, platform age rules, and what we will and will not ask minors to post.
- Draft and maintain the crisis comms playbook: sourcing questions, allergy and metal-content claims, sizing and body image criticism, creator controversy, and product quality escalations that start on TikTok and end in a journalist's inbox.
Measurement
- Report monthly on earned reach, share of voice, creator content volume and performance, sentiment, and the piece most PR people dodge: contribution to traffic and revenue via tracked links, discount codes, and post-purchase survey attribution.
What we are looking for
- 4 to 6 years in PR, communications, influencer marketing, or a blend, with at least two years running creator relationships directly rather than through an agency.
- Demonstrable earned coverage you personally secured. Bring the links.
- Fluency in how attention actually moves on short-form video. If you cannot explain why a specific piece of content worked, this is not the role.
- Sharp writing. You will be judged on the pitch email, not the strategy deck.
- Comfort with ambiguity, small budgets, and doing the shipping logistics for a seeding drop yourself.
Nice to have: jewelry, beauty, or accessories experience; working knowledge of jewelry materials and claims (plating thickness, nickel content, recycled metal certification), because you will be asked to defend them publicly Pay: Up to $100,000.00 per year
