Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly by assisting with food preparation and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about the food industry and looking to use their skills in a restaurant/pub environment.

Responsibilities

- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring
- Follow our recipe book and instructions from the head cook to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and equipment
- Adhere to food safety standards and regulations to ensure a safe dining experience for customers
- Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies
- Must have Ontario Food Handling Certificate and WHMIS

Skills

- Understanding and experience of prep and organizing when to prep what's needed
- Three to Five years experience in a restaurant or pub as a prep cook a must




- Ability to perform cooking techniques and meal preparation tasks
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in food preparation
- Experience making fresh soup from scratch using ingredients we carry
- Excellent teamwork skills with a willingness to help others in the kitchen
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain high standards of cleanliness

Experience

- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting, with a focus on food preparation and cooking
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for food handling
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment

Job Types: Full time, Part-time Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
