About the Position The Logistics Handler is responsible for handling the materials used to make RB&W;’s products. This position is also required to count inventory and record the information. This position belongs to a bargaining unit with the chance to apply for other positions within the plant, after 6 months, and earning up to $30 per hour.
Specific Responsibilities
- Unload and load trucks of raw material using forklifts, pallet trucks or any form of material handling equipment.
- Perform physical inventory counts for comparing against data base information
- Verify material documentation and ensure that the correct grade of material is received.
- Stage product and related materials in priority based on schedule, instructions or priority sequence.
- Transfer materials to production machines as directed.
- Complete paperwork and electronic transactions associated with the movement of products.
- Perform general safety inspections of material handling equipment that is consistent with the certification training expectations.
General Qualifications/Required Skills:
- Valid forklift license and experienced in operating counterbalance and reach truck.
- Able to read and interpret relevant documentation such as shipping schedules, bills of lading, packing slips, certificates of compliance, weigh bills and other traffic related paperwork.
- Able to use discretionary judgment regarding product movement priorities based on schedules and demands.
- Able to count accurately for inventory taking purposes
- Able to use counting devices such as weigh scales.
- Computer experience with MRP system and scanning.
- Able to speak, read and write in English.
Compensation: Rate of pay starting at $24.73/hr, progressing to $25.23/hr after completing 4 month probationary period. Afternoon shift: Monday-Friday from 2:50pm-10:50pm
