As a member of the Set Up (and take down) team for the largest, drive-through, holiday light show in Southwestern Ontario, Magic of Lights, you will be responsible for ensuring that the lights are set up safely, shining brightly and ready on time!

This show, and this job, is located at Fanshawe Conservation Area, in the northeast corner of London. This location is not accessible by public transportation. Only applicants with personal transportation that is reliable in winter driving conditions are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

- Setting up the light displays - requires manual labour and secure operation of equipment such as forklift and telehandler
- Powering up the show - placing generators, running electrical to all displays in accordance with safety requirements
- Setting up the show infrastructure – placing port-a-pottys, wayfinding, signage
- Taking down the show – disassembling & packing away light displays, equipment and signage

Working Hours This is a short term, full-time role, with 8-9 hour shifts between 8am-6pm for the 4-6 weeks of set up (and take down). Shifts are on weekdays, and potentially weekends, during the day. Evening shifts are required in the finals days of setup, for light testing. All outdoor work.

Qualifications

- Experience as event staff (amusement park, trade shows, entertainment complexes) strongly preferred
- Commitment to on-the-job safety
- Quick learner, follows instructions, processes and procedures well
- Common sense,



problem-solving skills, handy-person with aptitude for minor mechanics
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic is necessary
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Willing & able to work in winter weather conditions
- Personal transportation required. Show location is not on public transit route.
- Steel toes and warm, weatherproof apparel required.

Term Training will be provided. Shifts between Oct 19 - Nov 20 . Additional work until Jan 18 may be available. This is a contract position, specifically for the event.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
