Requirements

Enthusiastic Team Leader who

· Overall Goal – To process the greatest number of carts at the highest level of quality at the lowest possible cost.

· Manage shipping, receiving and order preparation departments at the Cambridge facility.

· Ensure shipping and receiving paperwork processes are followed and product is transported in safe and secure manager, using Cart Connection guidelines.

· Priority is to ensure all orders make it to the customer accurately and without any damages or issues.

· Utilize the safest and most cost-effective methods for packaging, loading, palletizing, and shipping all products.

· Assign responsibilities and assemble team members to complete the production workload scheduled each day and week.

· Involved preparation of outbound customer orders and internal inventory transfers

· Retrieve shipping / receiving schedule from Shipping Coordinator and schedule personnel to complete all shipments.

· Maintain adequate inventory of packing / shipping materials to meet shipping schedule.

· Load / unload trailers and trucks with team members.

· Ensure all carts / products meet internal quality standards before loading / shipping. One last check by employees loading and him/herself.

· Ensure all inbound shipments are put into stock storage within 24 hours.

· Maintain clean and organized workspace.

· Flexibility in working overtime when required.

· Demonstrate and lead the team to apply focus and determination to see a job through to completion.

· Focused on facilitating teamwork to achieve or exceed production targets.

· Communicates issues or concerns in timely manner.

· Has a strong work ethic, attention to detail and positive approach towards the job.

· Lead team members to be attentive to quality requirements and expectations.





· Train team members on shipping receiving practices, order preparation and company policies.

· Interact with all Team Members in a, positive supportive and co-operative manner in accordance with Cart Canada’s CORE VALUES.

· Supervise the team to ensure a safe workplace where safety policies are followed, equipment is maintained and inspected regularly and work is completed in safe productive manner.

· Monitor and reply to emails in timeline manner.

· Achieve the production goals and deadlines assigned

· Take inventory, maintain organized storage area and workstations

· Ensure company property is secure at all times.

· Lead by Example – Maintain a positive attitude and be the most knowledgeable proficient member of the department.

Competencies

· Secondary School Completion or GDE equivalent or related skills.

· A minimum of 1 year of previous experience is required.

· Physically fit individual who can lift 35+ lbs.

· Shipping Experience is preferred.

· Metal shop experience is an asset.

· Are familiar with the safe and effective use of hand tools as well as small power tools.

· General labour or physically demanding job experience is an asset.

· Forklift license required.

· Experience leading small teams is required.

Health and Safety Responsibilities

· Adhere to and support the safe operating procedures for all assigned duties.

· Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, eye protection, CSA approved footwear and other safety equipment as required by Management.

· Report any safety concerns immediately to the Team Leader / Plant Leader.





· Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Amendment Act (Violence and Harassment in the Workplace), 2009, S.O. 2009, c. 23 - Bill 168

· Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. R.R.O. 1990, REGULATION 860. WORKPLACE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INFORMATION SYSTEM (WHMIS).

· Always comply with the MOL guidelines and the CSA standard B-335 04 for lift truck safety.

Continuous Improvements

· Improve technical proficiency by participating in training and development activities.

· Participate with team members in continuous improvement projects and suggestions.

· Be continuously aware of quality and express concerns to your Team Leader and Quality Control.

Working Conditions

· Manufacturing setting that is subject to temperature differences.

· Hazards that might be found within the workplace include equipment/machinery with electricity, moving parts, hot solutions, inadequate ventilation, or other substances, lifting, pinching, cuts, repetitive motions, noxious fumes, sharpened instruments, or tools, toxic or corrosive substances.

Physical Demands / Efforts

· A variety of power tools may be used on a regular basis such as pallet and hand jacks, stripping tools, pry bars, manual lift devices, hand tools, etc.

· Examples of Physical Effort and Physical Demand are standing, walking, working in an awkward position, lifting objects, or holding the body in one position for prolonged periods of time.

· Physical activity includes bending or reaching to do minor lifting for typically more than 2 hours per shift.

· Hearing protection will be required as needed.

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
