Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead renovation and retrofit projects for existing commercial properties.

Duties

- Manage renovation and retrofit projects for existing commercial buildings from planning through construction and close-out
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to develop and implement design solutions within existing building conditions
- Conduct site assessments and work with consultants to identify constraints, risks, and upgrade requirements (e.g., structural, MEP, code compliance)
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants and ongoing operations
- Oversee tendering, contractor selection, and contract administration
- Monitor project budgets, change orders, and cost controls
- Ensure compliance with Ontario Building Code, safety regulations, and municipal requirements
- Coordinate permits, inspections, and approvals with relevant authorities
- Lead regular site meetings and provide progress reports to stakeholders and senior management
- Manage project close-out, including deficiencies, documentation, and handover

Requirements





- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the development, construction, or renovation of high-rise residential buildings, office buildings, or hotels
- Strong understanding of working within existing buildings, including phasing, occupied spaces, and building systems upgrades
- Familiarity with Ontario Building Code, permit processes, and local construction practices
- Experience in tendering, contract management, and consultant coordination
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
- PMP or related certification is an asset

Job Types: Full time, Permanent Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
