Duties:

Winter

- Clearing and shoveling snow from streets, sidewalks and other municipal property, especially works requiring the use of a dump truck
- Spreading salt and sand for ice control

Spring/Summer/Fall:
- Flushing sewer lines
- Maintaining the municipal compost site
- Road and street maintenance
- Maintaining the City’s drainage system
- Loading and unloading trucks with supplies, equipment and other materials

General Duties:

- Seasonal cleanup
- Cleaning and maintaining sidewalks and roads
- Assisting in the maintenance of equipment, water & sewer works and fire hydrants
- May oversee seasonal employees as needed
- Operating assorted equipment such as street sweepers, woodchippers, skid steers, mobile elevating work platforms, dump trucks or vacuum trucks
- Carrying out daily safety procedures and documentation
- Reporting daily activities and maintaining accurate records
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications: Education & Certifications

- Valid Class 3A Saskatchewan driver’s license
- Satisfactory results from a criminal record check and drivers abstract




- The following certifications will be considered an asset and are required within the first 3 months of employment: Confined space (entry and monitor), Ground disturbance level 2, Fall protection, Transportation of dangerous goods, WHIMIS

Experience

- A minimum of 1-year previous experience in a similar capacity

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Must be able and willing to operate a dump truck or vacuum truck
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able and willing to perform all duties of the job in various weather conditions for extended periods
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships
- Good communication and comprehension ability - written and oral

Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $25.23 per hour
