Position Information The Representative, Hand Hygiene plays a crucial role in promoting and ensuring compliance with hand hygiene protocols and practices within The Ottawa Hospital (TOH). This role involves monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on hand hygiene practices among healthcare staff to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections. The Representative, Hand Hygiene works closely with various departments, providing education, training, and feedback to improve hand hygiene compliance throughout the hospital.

Temporary until approximately December 31, 2026.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, evenings, and nights, including weekends, 4 hour shifts. For information purposes only - The Hospital reserves the right to change.

Basic Requirements

- University in progress, in behavioral science, psychology, or related field;




- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills required to interact with those who have been observed and be able to provide feedback respectfully and be able to tailor messages for all hospital staff
- Computer skills including the use of iPad;
- Demonstrates tact, judgement and initiative;
- Must be self-directed and work efficiently with minimal supervision;
- Positive written communication skills required for minute taking.

Preferred Qualifications

- Flexibility to handle deadlines and heavy workload;
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
