About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and trend-savvy Retail Buyer to manage product selection and procurement for their diverse range of offerings in Kimberley and surrounding regions. This hybrid role combines essential on-site market analysis and supplier interactions with remote responsibilities for planning and negotiations. You will be responsible for identifying new product opportunities, negotiating terms with suppliers, and ensuring the right merchandise is available at the right time and price to maximize sales and profitability. This role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, consumer trends, and effective supply chain management within the retail industry .

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and source new products and suppliers that align with the company's brand image and target market for retail sales .
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to forecast demand and plan product assortments.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and optimal margins.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock availability while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs.




- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop effective product launch strategies and promotional plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable supply chains.

Requirements

- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Retail Buyer or Merchandiser, with a strong understanding of the retail market .
- Proven ability to analyze sales data, identify market trends, and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with purchasing software and inventory management systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote planning with in office activities.
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
