Our Opportunity

Birchwood Dairy is looking for a mature, dependable, and customer-focused Retail Store Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our retail store. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys working with customers, supporting a team, and creating a welcoming and well-organized retail environment.

The successful candidate will bring 2–3 years of retail management or supervisory experience, robust communication skills, and the ability to confidently manage the store while working alongside the team.

Responsibilities

As the Retail Store Manager, you will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the store, including:

- Lead, coach, schedule, and support retail team members
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure customers have a positive experience
- Oversee daily opening and closing procedures
- Manage staff scheduling and ensure appropriate coverage
- Support employee training, onboarding, and ongoing development
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering and product availability
- Maintain attractive, clean, organized, and well-stocked displays
- Handle customer questions and concerns professionally
- Oversee cash handling and point-of-sale procedures
- Help maintain appropriate food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
- Support sales initiatives and identify opportunities to improve the customer experience
- Work collaboratively with management and other areas of the business
- Step in and work alongside the retail team as required





Qualifications: 2–3 years of retail management or supervisory experience

- A mature, professional, and dependable approach to leadership
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Experience supervising, coaching, and scheduling employees
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- The ability to take initiative and make sound day-to-day decisions
- A positive, hands-on leadership style
- The ability to work effectively in a busy retail environment
- Experience in food retail, grocery, dairy, or a similar environment is an asset

Schedule This is a full-time position. Flexibility is important due to the seasonal nature of our business.

The Retail Store Manager will be required to work Tuesday to Saturday and some Sunday availability during the peak summer months. When weekend work is scheduled, alternative days off will be provided during the week.

Compensation and Benefits

- $24.00 – 27.00 per hour depending on experience
