Robotics Coach & Mentor – Part-Time-contract

Kavosh AI & Robotics Academy is hiring multiple part-time Robotics Coaches & Mentors to teach and mentor students ages 8–18 in robotics, programming, AI, and competitive robotics.

This opportunity is especially suitable for university students, recent graduates, and individuals studying Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, AI, or related fields who are interested in flexible part-time work and hands-on experience in robotics education and competitions.

We operate across 13 locations in the Canada , and coaches may be assigned to different classes, students, programs, and locations based on their expertise, availability, and program demand.

You do not need to be an expert in every area listed below. We are hiring multiple coaches with different specialties and technical levels.

Responsibilities

Teach and mentor students ages 8–18 in robotics and programming

Lead hands-on robotics projects, challenges, and training sessions

Help students design, build, program, test, and troubleshoot robots

Prepare students for competitions including RoboCup, FIRA RoboWorldCup, and Enjoy AI

Support competition teams during training and competition events

Encourage creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and engineering thinking

Collaborate with other coaches and technical mentors

Participate in workshops, events, and student recruitment activities where mutually agreed

Technical Areas

Depending on your experience, you may work in one or more of the following areas:

Educational & Junior Robotics

LEGO Education SPIKE

VEX Robotics

WhalesBot or similar robotics platforms

Scratch/block-based programming

Basic Python

Motors, sensors, and introductory robotics

Advanced Robotics & Autonomous Systems

Python and/or C/C++

Computer vision and image processing

Autonomous systems and robot navigation

Sensors and actuators

Arduino, microcontrollers, and embedded systems

Electronics and troubleshooting

Mobile/platform-based robots

Advanced Competition / RoboCup Robotics

Advanced programming and algorithm development

Computer vision and image processing

Autonomous robotics

3D CAD design and mechanical modelling

Circuit design, reading,



and troubleshooting

Sensors, motors, actuators, and control systems

Robot integration, testing, and optimization

Previous RoboCup or advanced robotics competition experience is a strong asset

Hours & Scheduling

This is a part-time position with variable hours.

Depending on class enrollment, competition timelines, coach availability, and assigned programs, schedules may range from approximately 0–20 hours per week.

Robotics competition programs operate on different timelines throughout the year, so some periods may have significantly more training and class hours than others.

During the interview and onboarding process, we will discuss your availability, technical specialization, preferred locations, competition involvement, and potential class assignments. Coaches may gradually take on additional classes as programs and enrollment grow.

Competitions & Travel

Competitions are an important part of Kavosh’s programs. Our teams participate in robotics competitions that may involve local, national, and international travel.

Coaches may have opportunities to accompany and support students at competitions and gain valuable hands-on competition and travel experience.

Certain competition trips or activities may be offered as voluntary/unpaid experiences rather than paid working hours. Where applicable, coaches participating in these trips may be eligible for additional bonuses or incentives. Specific expectations, compensation, travel arrangements, expenses, and responsibilities will be communicated and agreed upon before each competition or trip.

Availability for competition travel is a strong asset, particularly for coaches assigned to competitive teams.

Workshops & Growth Opportunities

Kavosh regularly organizes free introductory robotics workshops and community events to introduce new students and families to our programs.





Coaches may have opportunities to participate in certain workshops on a voluntary/unpaid basis. These workshops also provide coaches with an opportunity to meet prospective students, demonstrate their teaching abilities, and help develop new classes.

As student enrollment grows, coaches who are actively involved in workshops and program development may have opportunities to receive additional paid classes and teaching hours based on enrollment, availability, performance, and program needs.

Qualifications

Currently studying or graduated from Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, AI, or a related field

Experience in at least one relevant robotics, programming, electronics, AI, or engineering area

Strong interest in robotics, technology, and working with students

Positive communication and problem-solving skills

Reliable, patient, responsible, and comfortable working with students ages 8–18

Previous teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or youth experience is an asset but not required

Experience with RoboCup, FIRA, Enjoy AI, VEX, FIRST, or other robotics competitions is a strong asset

Willingness to support competition teams and potentially travel is a strong asset
