Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Robotics Tutor & VEX IQ Competition Coach to lead our robotics program. In this paid position, you will inspire students (mostly Gr6 to Gr8) through hands-on robotics instruction, develop their technical skills, and coach them for VEX IQ competitions. Your role will be vital in cultivating a passion for STEM, teamwork, and problem-solving among our students.

Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging classroom instruction on robotics concepts and VEX IQ building techniques
- Prepare students for local, regional, and national VEX IQ robotics competitions
- Guide students through the design, construction, programming, and testing of robots
- Foster a collaborative learning environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to support skill development




- Coordinate with school staff to schedule practice sessions and competition participation
- Promote safety protocols during all robotics activities

Qualifications

- Prior classroom experience teaching or tutoring STEM subjects or robotics preferred
- Strong knowledge of VEX IQ robotics platform, programming, and engineering principles
- Passion for mentoring youth in STEM fields with an energetic and motivational approach
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to organize activities, manage time efficiently, and motivate teams toward success
- A background in teaching or coaching robotics or related STEM programs is highly desirable
