Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate is someone who takes safety seriously, can work independently, and is comfortable behind the wheel in all kinds of Canadian conditions. You'll need a reliable vehicle that meets Canada Post's mandatory cargo specifications, as well as a clean driving record.

- Valid permanent provincial driver's licence — Class 5 or G required
- Satisfactory safe driving record — a driver's abstract will be required
- Experience making deliveries and operating a motor vehicle in varied weather and traffic conditions
- Vehicle meeting mandatory requirements: minimum 50 cu ft (1,415 L) cargo capacity, automatic transmission, power windows, metal roof-top with accessory power outlet, appropriate window sill height (38"-45"), and fifth door/hatchback (preferred)
- Automobile liability insurance for use of your personal vehicle, with notification to your insurer regarding its use with Canada Post
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lb (22.7 kg)
- English language proficiency — English Essential
- Preference given to applicants residing within 75 km of the Port Stanley Post Office
