The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This is a hands-on accounting role for someone comfortable getting into the details, investigating discrepancies, reconciling accounts, and bringing structure to financial processes.

A major priority during the first 6–12 months will be stabilizing our daily and monthly accounting functions, with a solid focus on ensuring bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled and supported. As we work toward a clean 2026 year-end, you will also deep dive into historical transactions, investigate outstanding balances, clean up legacy items, and bring balance sheet accounts fully up to date.

What You Will Be Doing

● Own and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accounts are accurate, current, and properly supported.

● Perform regular daily and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

● Review historical transactions and clean up legacy balances and unsupported accounts.

● Prepare and support monthly HST, PST, GST, QST, WSIB, and EHT filings, ensuring they are completed accurately and on time.

● Maintain accurate and up-to-date AP and AR aging and investigate old, stale, or potentially uncollectible balances.

● Support appropriate write-offs or provisions where required.

● Assist with weekly customer invoicing for fulfillment services and work with Operations to ensure billing inputs are complete and accurate.

● Support the month-end close process, including journal entries and required reconciliations.

● Help improve the organization, documentation, and efficiency of accounting processes over time.

What You Bring

● 3+ years of accounting experience.

● CPA designation completed or in progress is preferred.

● Hands-on experience with balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations,

and month-end accounting.

● Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup functions.

● Experience with accounting systems and/or ERPs.

● Strong attention to detail and organization.

● Comfortable working through incomplete or unclear information and investigating discrepancies.

● Willingness to roll up your sleeves and work through reconciliations, historical transactions, and cleanup.

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

● Experience in logistics, distribution, eCommerce, or another high-volume transactional environment is an asset.

What Does Success Look Like?

Key balance sheet accounts are reconciled, supported, and current; bank and credit card reconciliations are consistently maintained; AP and AR aging is accurate and up to date; required filings are completed correctly and on time; historical accounting items are resolved; and month-end processes become more consistent, organized, and well documented.
