The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chartered Professional Accountant to join our team in a senior capacity. Depending on the experience and goals of the successful candidate, this position can be structured as a Senior Accountant, Manager, or a direct pathway toward a partner role.

Key Responsibilities Lead and execute audit and review engagements for a diverse client portfolio, including owner-managed businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and other entities

Prepare and review T2 corporate tax returns, T1 personal returns, trust returns (T3), and partnership returns across a varied client base

Review compilation engagements and financial statement preparation in accordance with Canadian standards

Provide strategic tax planning advice,



including corporate reorganizations, estate planning considerations, and owner-manager remuneration strategies

Manage client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor across a broad range of accounting, financial, and business advisory needs

Liaise with CRA on client matters including audits, objections, and compliance inquiries

Supervise, mentor, and develop junior accounting staff and CPA students

Contribute to firm growth through business development, referral relationships, and active community engagement

Participate in practice management, quality control, and the continuous improvement of firm processes

Qualifications & Experience Canadian CPA designation required

Minimum 5 years of post-designation experience in public practice, with hands-on expertise in audit, review, compilation, and tax engagements

Experience preparing and reviewing T1, T2, T3, and other Canadian tax filings

Strong technical knowledge of Canadian ASPE, NPO standards, and the Income Tax Act

Experience managing client files independently and supervising junior staff

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex matters to non-accountants

High degree of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail





Proficiency with accounting and tax software (CaseWare, Tax Cycle, QBO, or equivalent)

Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in practice ownership is a robust asset

Desire to build long-term roots in the Fernie community is a strong asset

What We Offer Competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience and role level A path to ownership available for the right candidate
