Explore a challenging opportunity as a Senior Financial Analyst with the County of Elgin. This full-time, 12-month contractual position emphasizes compliance within municipal finance and requires advanced analytical skills. In this role, you will report to the Director of Financial Services/Treasurer and take on direct responsibilities in managing budgets and financial reporting.

By ensuring compliance with the Municipal Act and Public Sector Accounting Standards, you’ll provide vital financial support that safeguards public funds. Your proactive involvement will aid in highlighting process improvements and efficiencies within the finance department. Key Responsibilities:

- Work on budget development with various departments
- Coordinate with ministries for financial reporting




- Manage year-end closing, including audits and accruals
- Oversee cash management processes and bank reconciliations
- Provide training and procedure documentation for staff Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Accounting or Business Administration
- CPA designation or in progress is ideal
- 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and Sage Accounting software
- Solid organizational and communication capabilities Utilize your skills in municipal finance at the County of Elgin and contribute to effective fiscal management.
