Senior .NET Developer, MVVM and XAML

Position summary

Our client is developing a Windows desktop application used to configure fire detection and alarm panels. The successful candidate will join a software development team working on a reliable, high-performance solution for installers, technicians, and end users.

The role focuses on C#, .NET 10, WinUI 3, MVVM, XAML, clean architecture, testing, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development.

Main responsibilities

- Contribute to the application’s clean architecture by proposing and integrating design patterns while analyzing requirements and legacy technical specifications.
- Design, develop, and maintain new features using C#, .NET 10, WinUI 3, MVVM, and XAML.
- Build reliable Windows user interfaces based on UI/UX designs for configuring fire detection and alarm panels.
- Develop unit and integration tests, document test scenarios with AI tools, and participate in code reviews supported by GitHub Copilot.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, Systems, Hardware, and Support teams in an Agile environment while contributing to technical planning, CI/CD, and software delivery activities.
- Diagnose performance, stability, compatibility, and deployment issues,



document technical decisions, and support or mentor less experienced developers.

Qualifications

- University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, with 7+ years of software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET Core, Windows desktop application development, and an MVVM framework with XAML, such as WPF, UWP, or WinUI. Robust VB.NET and Windows development experience is also relevant.
- Excellent knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, clean architecture, and SOLID principles.
- Experience with relational databases, Entity Framework, LINQ, Git, CI/CD, code reviews, and testing frameworks such as NUnit or xUnit.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and AI-assisted development or prompting. Knowledge of C++ is an advantage, particularly for low-level or hardware integrations.
- Availability to work 3 days per week on site in Brossard. Experience in industrial software, embedded systems, hardware integration, automation, IoT, safety-critical systems, real-time applications, or high-availability products is an advantage.
