Alberta Conservation Association (ACA) is looking for a highly motivated IT Solutions Specialist to develop, manage, and implement secure, scalable solutions across the organization. This role combines hands on technical expertise with project oversight and will help shape ACA’s digital strategy, improve business operations, and increase organizational efficiency. The position reports to the Vice President, Finance and Digital Strategy.

The position could be based out of one of ACA’s offices in Cochrane, Lethbridge, Peace River, Rocky Mountain House, or Sherwood Park.

Responsibilities and Requirements

- Design, develop, configure, and maintain SharePoint sites, pages, libraries, lists, workflows, and applications
- Develop SharePoint solutions that improve collaboration, document management, and business processes
- Manage SharePoint permissions, security, and governance in collaboration with ACA’s external IT service provider
- Develop and maintain automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate platform, or other technology tools within or outside the Microsoft 365 platform that support improved operational efficiency
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain various business applications and technology solutions
- Work with internal teams to gather technology requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
- Integrate existing and new systems or databases into the Microsoft 365 platform
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations
- Work with internal teams to identify reporting and business intelligence requirements




- Connect Power BI to various data sources and develop appropriate data models
- Maintain data accuracy, consistency, security and access controls in collaboration with the external IT service provider
- Automate reporting processes where possible to improve accessibility of organizational data
- Manage day-to-day oversight of the organizations IT workplace, systems, applications and technology services
- Coordinate with IT vendors, service providers and technology partners
- Assist with the development of IT policies, procedures, long-term strategies, and annual technology planning
- Support cybersecurity, data protection, and business continuity initiatives
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies in collaboration with the Vice President, Finance and Digital Strategy

Qualifications

- Two-year post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Five or more years of progressive experience in a diverse technology environment using a variety of Microsoft operating systems and applications
- Experience with Microsoft 365, including SharePoint and the Power Platform




- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools
- Experience with application/web development
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-service mindset and the ability to build positive working relationships
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team, including the ability to provide effective guidance to staff
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

Additional Skills Considered Assets

- Experience with SQL, databases, APIs, and data integrations
- A project management credential, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or equivalent
- Microsoft certifications related to SharePoint, Power Platform, Power BI, Azure, or Microsoft 365
- Additional related IT education, courses or system certifications
