About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mine Geologist with specialized expertise in diamond exploration to join their team operating out of Kimberley . This role involves leading exploration efforts to identify and evaluate new diamondiferous kimberlite pipes and alluvial deposits. You will be responsible for field mapping, sampling, core logging, and interpreting complex geological and geophysical data to guide exploration strategies. This is a challenging and rewarding position for a seasoned geologist looking to make a significant contribution to the discovery of valuable diamond resources in a region with a rich history of diamond mining.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and execute geological fieldwork, including prospecting, mapping, and sampling of potential diamond targets.
- Log and interpret diamond drill core, identifying indicator minerals and geological structures.
- Integrate geological, geophysical, and geochemical data to develop exploration models.




- Conduct resource estimations and prepare detailed technical reports for project evaluation.
- Collaborate with external consultants and research institutions on specialized diamond exploration techniques.

Requirements

- Master's degree in Economic Geology or a related geoscience discipline.
- A minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration , with a proven track record in diamond exploration .
- Expertise in the geology of kimberlites and alluvial diamond deposits.
- Proficiency with geological modeling software and GIS.
- Strong understanding of diamond indicator mineral analysis and indicator mineral dispersion.
