Overview

International Process Supplies Ltd. (IPS) is seeking an experienced Senior Piping Designer / Checker for oil and gas, gas processing, and industrial projects.

The successful candidate must have strong practical expertise in AVEVA E3D / PDMS and CAESAR II, with the ability to develop piping designs, independently check deliverables, and perform piping stress analysis. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration is preferred.

Responsibilities

- Develop and modify 3D piping models, equipment arrangements, and piping layouts using AVEVA E3D / PDMS.
- Prepare piping general arrangement drawings, isometrics, pipe support details, and material take-offs.
- Independently check drawings and models prepared by other team members against P&IDs;, line lists, piping specifications, equipment drawings, and project requirements.
- Perform and document piping stress and flexibility analyses using CAESAR II, including evaluation of thermal expansion, support reactions, and equipment nozzle loads.
- Review stress analyses prepared by others and ensure recommendations are incorporated into piping models and drawings.
- Check routing, slopes, vents, drains, valve accessibility, maintenance clearances, and constructability.
- Identify and resolve clashes and coordinate piping interfaces with process, mechanical, structural, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
- Verify compliance with applicable piping codes, including ASME B31.3, and client specifications.
- Track review comments and confirm their resolution before drawings are issued for fabrication or construction.





Required Qualifications and Skills

- Substantial experience in piping design and checking for oil and gas, petrochemical, or process facilities.
- Advanced proficiency in AVEVA E3D, with practical experience in PDMS.
- Strong hands-on experience in CAESAR II, including developing analysis models, selecting appropriate load cases, and interpreting results.
- Proven ability to independently check piping models, layouts, isometrics, and material take-offs.
- Sound knowledge of piping components, material specifications, pressure ratings, pipe supports, and fabrication and installation requirements.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs;, equipment drawings, vendor documents, and engineering specifications.
- Degree or diploma in mechanical engineering, piping design, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong attention to detail, transparent communication, and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration.
- Experience with gas treatment facilities, modular process packages, and skid-mounted equipment.
- Experience with Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
- Field experience supporting fabrication, construction, or commissioning.
