Poutineville Downtown is looking for a reliable and friendly full-time server to join our team in downtown Montreal.
Day and evening shifts are available.
Schedule & Availability
- Approximately 5 shifts per week
- Day shifts generally start at 10:30 AM
- Evening shifts generally start at 4:30 PM
- Weekday and weekend shifts available
- Strong weekday daytime availability is preferred
- Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday daytime availability is an asset
Salary: $13.3/hour + tips
Age: 18+
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide friendly, efficient service
- Take food and beverage orders accurately
- Serve food and drinks in a timely manner
- Answer questions about menu items
- Process cash and card payments accurately
- Maintain clean tables and service areas
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
Requirements
- Previous serving or customer-service experience preferred
- Friendly, reliable, and comfortable interacting with customers
- Able to multitask and work efficiently
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Reliable and punctual

Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of food handling and sanitation
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in dining areas, including proper food safety practices and food preparation procedures
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any guest concerns efficiently
Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
- Knowledge of POS systems, especially Micros POS, is a plus but training will be provided
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing, and order accuracy
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Kitchen experience or familiarity with food industry standards is advantageous but not mandatory
