Shift Manager

We are looking for an experienced, energetic Shift Manager to join our quick-service restaurant team. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can motivate employees, maintain strong operational standards, and ensure every guest receives fast, friendly, and accurate service.

The Shift Manager is responsible for leading the restaurant during assigned shifts, supporting team members, managing daily operations, and helping achieve sales, service, food-safety, and labour targets.

Compensation

- Hourly wage: $19.70–$21.70 per hour
- Rate is based on relevant experience, leadership capability, and operational knowledge
- Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available
- Flexible scheduling, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise crew members throughout the shift.
- Ensure excellent guest service, speed of service, order accuracy, and restaurant cleanliness.
- Open and/or close the restaurant according to company procedures.
- Support daily sales, labour, food-cost, waste, and productivity targets.
- Assign work stations, provide coaching, and ensure employees remain productive and engaged.
- Train new employees on operational procedures, food safety, customer service, and workplace standards.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure food is prepared, held, and served according to company standards and food-safety requirements.
- Complete cash handling, deposits, inventory counts, waste tracking, and shift reports as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and fully stocked restaurant environment.
- Monitor equipment, maintenance needs, and supply levels, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Follow all health and safety, employment, security, and company policies.




- Support the Restaurant Manager and Assistant Manager with scheduling, employee performance, and operational priorities.

Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Shift Manager or Team Leader role.
- Proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage customer concerns professionally and calmly.
- Knowledge of cash handling, food safety, opening/closing procedures, and daily restaurant operations.
- Ability to work a versatile schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to approximately 25 lbs., and work efficiently in a busy restaurant setting.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset.
