Shop Labourer / Production Assistant

Eagle Canvas Company — Burlington, Ontario

Eagle Canvas Company is a local, established canvas and upholstery shop in Burlington. We specialize in custom boat covers, canvas work, upholstery, awnings, industrial covers and other custom projects.

We're looking for a reliable, hardworking person to join our shop as a Shop Labourer / Production Assistant.

This is a hands-on position where you'll be working with canvas, vinyl, upholstery materials and shop equipment. No previous canvas or sewing experience is required — we're willing to train the right person.

What you'll be doing

- Helping with production of custom canvas and upholstery projects
- Cutting, measuring and handling canvas, vinyl and other materials
- Assisting with boat covers, enclosures and upholstery
- Loading and unloading materials
- Operating basic shop equipment
- Helping with installations and deliveries when required
- Keeping the shop clean, organized and secure
- Learning industrial sewing and other aspects of the canvas trade




- Other general shop duties as required

What we're looking for:
- Reliable and dependable
- Good work ethic and positive attitude
- Comfortable doing physical work
- Able to lift and move materials
- Good attention to detail
- Comfortable using basic hand tools
- Mechanically inclined is an asset
- Previous construction, manufacturing, automotive, marine, upholstery or sewing experience is an asset
- Must be willing to learn

We're looking for someone who wants to learn a trade and develop their skills, not just someone looking for a temporary job.

Position

Full-time/part time — Monday
