Duties
- Engage with customers to consult on the design and production of signs
- Prepare graphics and technical drawings for production based on customer specifications
- Prepare drawings for city permitting that meet various city by-laws
- Read and interpret standard drawings to build signs to customer specifications
- Manage projects from start to finish and meet customer expectations and delivery promises
- Review pre-production files for accuracy
- Maintain a high level of detail and accuracy on all production jobs
- Review current design procedures and implement new and innovative ways to streamline processes
- Ensure all projects are set up properly in the system and material is ordered and available prior to production
- Work on state-of-the-art printing and sign making equipment
- Assemble various signs and prepare them for shipping and installation
- Answer phone calls and emails and provide customer service
- Work directly with both customers and subcontractors
- Shape a great sign manufacturing company bringing up issues,
making suggestions and presenting ideas to improve what and how we do things
Skills
- 5+ years sign industry experience in the design and production of signs
- Ideally a background in Graphic Design and in-depth knowledge of sign making
- Proficient in vinyl creation & application and large format digital printing
- Knowledge and experience in operating large format digital printers, cutters and laminators, as well as other tools required for producing signs.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Keen attention to detail and multi-tasking skills are critical
- Robust computer skills and design creativity
- Expert experience in one or more of the following programs: FlexiSIGN, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and/or Adobe Photoshop
- Solid track record of managing projects and accurately estimating and meeting deadlines
- Self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies, skills, and techniques
- Experience in maintaining production and inventory data in ERP software such as CoreBridge or Cyrious
- Experience with RIP software such as Onyx
- Comfortable with the use of hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently
- Good problem-solving skills to overcome production issues
- Willingness to open and close business if required
Nice to have
- CNC Router experience and/ or producing ADA signs
- Experience in colour management
- Experience installing various signs including vinyl installation
- Design and install vehicle wraps
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
