We have an opening for a Skilled Shallow Utility Labourer on our Construction team.

Responsibilities:

- Ensures safe and steady production on shallow utility projects.

- Loads and unloads construction materials on site.

- Assists heavy equipment operators with swamping and safely exposing existing utilities.

- Installs and connects conduit and duct banks to project drawings and specifications.

- Assists with cable pulling and placement in conduit or open trench.

- Places and levels bedding sand and assists with backfill and compaction.

- Assists in site clean-up.

- Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

- Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, climb, and lift up to 50lbs

- Has hands-on shallow utility construction experience, including conduit installation, precast concrete structure installation,



and supporting trenching and backfill operations with excavation equipment.

- Good hand-eye coordination.

- Works well as a team in accomplishing projects.

- Can read utility construction drawings and follow applicable specifications.

- Understands safe excavation practices, utility locates, and working around existing utilities.

- Valuable communication skills both verbal and written.

A Few Qualifications That Would Help You Succeed:

- Own means of transportation to and from the site.

- Two or more years of shallow utility construction experience is an asset.

- Valid Driver’s License and Driver’s abstract in good standing.
