About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Soil Scientist to focus on environmental management within their agricultural operations near Kimberley. This hybrid role will involve conducting detailed soil analyses to assess health, fertility, and environmental impact, developing strategies for soil conservation, remediation, and sustainable land use. You will work on projects aimed at minimizing environmental footprint and maximizing land productivity. Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive field and laboratory analyses of soil samples to assess physical, chemical, and biological properties.
- Develop and implement soil management plans for conservation, erosion control, and nutrient management.
- Assess soil contamination and develop remediation strategies for affected areas.
- Monitor soil health indicators and provide recommendations for improving soil fertility and structure.




- Conduct environmental impact assessments related to agricultural activities.
- Stay updated on best practices in soil science, environmental regulations, and sustainable land management.

Requirements

- Master's or Ph.D. in Soil Science, Environmental Science, Agronomy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in soil science, with a focus on environmental applications.
- Proficiency in soil sampling techniques, laboratory analysis, and data interpretation.
- Strong understanding of soil chemistry, physics, biology, and their interactions with ecosystems.
- Experience with GIS and remote sensing for soil mapping and analysis is advantageous.
- Excellent research, analytical, and report-writing skills.
