Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sourcing & Supplier Relationship Manager – METAL with strong expertise in strategic sourcing, direct-material procurement, supplier development, and category management, particularly for mechanical manufactured components.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing the end-to-end RFQ and sourcing lifecycle, supplier qualification and development, techno-commercial analysis, cost optimization, and global supplier management. The role requires close collaboration with customer stakeholders, engineering, manufacturing, quality, finance, strategic sourcing teams, suppliers, and offshore teams across multiple regions.

Key Technical & Functional Requirements

•

8–18 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Direct Material Procurement, Supplier Development, or Category Management.

•

Strong sourcing expertise across mechanical manufactured components and metal parts.

•

Hands-on experience managing the complete RFQ process, from requirement gathering through supplier response, quotation analysis, and sourcing recommendation.

•

Strong experience in supplier capability assessment, qualification, performance management, development, consolidation, and alternate sourcing.

•

Ability to review engineering drawings, prepare RFQ packages, evaluate supplier quotations, and perform techno-commercial comparisons.

•

Experience managing global suppliers and working with cross-functional teams across North America, Mexico, China, and Europe.

•

Working knowledge of sourcing dashboards, supplier scorecards, industrialization tracking, and sourcing/procurement platforms such as Jaggaer or equivalent tools.

•

Strong understanding of cost reduction, supplier negotiation, productivity improvement, and sourcing strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & RFQ Management

•

Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for mechanical, electrical, and electronic commodities.

•

Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers across the USA, Mexico, China, Europe, and other global markets.

•





Manage the end-to-end RFQ process, including:

Sourcing recommendation and supplier selection

Drive sourcing activities aligned with cost, quality, delivery, capacity, and project timelines.

Supplier Relationship & Development

•

Build and maintain solid relationships with strategic suppliers.

•

Conduct supplier capability assessments, qualification, performance reviews, and development initiatives.

•

Drive supplier consolidation and alternate/dual sourcing strategies to improve supply continuity and reduce risk.

•

Monitor supplier readiness, capacity, quality, delivery performance, and industrialization milestones.

•

Lead supplier issue resolution and escalation activities.

Stakeholder & Project Management

•

Serve as a key interface between customer stakeholders, suppliers, and offshore sourcing teams.

•

Collaborate with Manufacturing, Product Owners, Engineering, Quality, Strategic Sourcing, Finance, and other cross-functional teams.

•

Align sourcing priorities, project timelines, dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans.

•

Track sourcing project milestones, supplier commitments, industrialization activities, savings, and productivity targets.

•

Manage multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously while maintaining delivery and governance standards.

Reporting & Governance

•

Provide daily project updates and weekly executive status reports.

•

Maintain sourcing dashboards, supplier scorecards, and category strategy reports.

•

Track supplier performance, sourcing progress,



savings, productivity, risks, and critical dependencies.

•

Lead governance reviews and escalation management for supplier delays, sourcing risks, and critical project issues.

•

Develop and communicate actionable recommendations based on sourcing and supplier performance data.
