We're currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the construction completions phase of a major industrial facility in British Columbia on a six-month assignment, with the potential for extension.

ABOUT THE ROLE In this role, you will provide senior electrical engineering support to the owner's team as the facility works toward construction completion and turnover. You will be the go-to electrical resource in the field, working with construction contractors, commissioning, operations, and engineering teams to make sure electrical scopes are installed to specification, inspected, tested, and turned over on schedule.

This is a hands-on, full-time role that requires in office presence at the facility. You will review contractor work, resolve field issues, support completions and turnover documentation, and help keep electrical scopes moving toward commissioning and start-up.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide electrical engineering support to the construction team through project completion and turnover
- Review electrical installation work against design drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards
- Support inspection and testing activities, including review of inspection test records (ITRs), test results, and quality documentation
- Manage and close out electrical punch list items and deficiencies with contractors
- Review and respond to contractor RFIs, technical queries, and field change requests, and coordinate with the design engineer where needed
- Support development and review of completions and turnover packages, including redlines and as-built documentation




- Monitor electrical construction progress and report on status, issues, and risks
- Coordinate with commissioning and operations teams to support a smooth handover from construction to commissioning
- Support safe work practices, including isolation and energization planning for electrical systems
- Identify and communicate risks or schedule impacts early, and support mitigation planning

WHAT YOU BRING
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, LNG, gas processing, or other heavy industrial environments
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Active P.Eng. registration required (registered in British Columbia, or eligible for BC registration)
- Direct experience supporting electrical construction and completions on a major capital project, ideally on the owner's side
- Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, cabling, grounding, and instrumentation and control interfaces
- Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable CSA standards
- Familiarity with inspection and test procedures, completions and turnover processes, and quality documentation
- Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with owner, contractor, and commissioning teams
- Ability to work on-site full-time, either locally or on a rotational schedule

Employment: Open to employment or contract arrangements

Hours: Full-time. Local candidates work Monday to Friday, 9 hours per day. Rotational candidates work 14/7 (two weeks on, one week off).

Pay: $120,000.00-$160,000.00 per year
