Toronto is home to one of Amazon’s most strategically important planning functions — and there’s now an opening for a Senior Program Manager on the Outbound Transportation Planning Team at Amazon Canada (Amazon.ca). This is a high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of data, logistics strategy, and executive communication, making it a compelling opportunity for a seasoned program manager ready to operate at scale.

At its core, this role owns the short-term transportation volume planning process and leads planning for high-volume events (HVEs) across Canada. You’ll be influencing decisions at the Director and VP level, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and continuously looking for ways to improve the accuracy, speed, and resilience of the planning process — including through AI and automation tools.

About the Role: Sr. Program Manager, Network Planning

The Transportation Network Planning Team is responsible for generating volume plans for every package from the moment it leaves a fulfilment centre. These plans cascade downstream to middle mile and last mile teams who rely on them to plan labour and capacity. The team covers both short-term (rolling 12-week) and long-term (up to 5-year) planning horizons, and is accountable for continuously improving tools, processes, and plan accuracy.

Your day typically begins by reviewing recent performance data to identify trends or anomalies, then summarising findings and communicating action plans to leadership. From there, you’ll engage a range of internal and external stakeholders — from demand planning teams to carrier partners — to ensure transportation plans reflect the latest network realities. Stakeholder alignment, scenario modelling, and executive-level communication are central to what you’ll do every day.

Advantages and Salary

The base salary range for this position is $84,400 to $141,000 CAD annually. As part of Amazon’s total compensation approach, the package may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs),



with final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and location. Responsibilities

This role carries significant accountability across the full transportation planning lifecycle for Canada. From weekly planning cycles to major high-volume event preparation, you’ll be expected to gather inputs, model scenarios, and communicate recommendations clearly to senior leadership. Collaboration with both technical and operational partner teams is a constant part of the role.

- Lead the weekly planning process, including input gathering, modelling, and communicating plans to downstream teams
- Engage with demand planning teams to understand and align on topline demand forecasts and confidence intervals
- Partner with middle and last mile leads to understand changes across each component of the transportation plans
- Connect with external stakeholders to evaluate trends or upcoming changes in carrier capacity, network design, Sort Centre capacity, Amazon Air capacity, or Fulfilment Centre shipment plans
- Model demand and capacity scenarios for high-volume events, develop recommendations, and present findings to Directors and VPs
- Leverage AI and automation solutions to improve plan accuracy, reduce plan generation cycle time, and enhance data sharing
- Drive tool and process improvements,



including partnering with tech teams to build new tools or onboard onto existing platforms
- Monitor daily performance for trends or anomalies and communicate findings and action plans to leadership

Requirements / Skills

This position is well-suited for a program manager who thrives in complex, fast-moving environments and is equally comfortable crunching data as they are presenting to senior executives. - 5+ years of program or project management experience in a complex operational or logistics environment
- Experience using data and metrics to identify opportunities and drive improvements
- Demonstrated experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- 2+ years presenting to executive and senior audiences, with the ability to tailor communication for VP-level stakeholders
- 2+ years of change management experience and managing cross-functional stakeholders in complex projects
- Knowledge of general AI tools and an interest in applying automation to planning and data workflows
- Preferred: 2+ years of process improvement experience and a Master’s degree or MBA in business, operations, or a related field

5+ years of program or project management experience. Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership. 2+ years of communicating with and presenting to executive and senior audiences. 2+ years of change management experience. 2+ years of managing stakeholders in cross-functional project experience. Preferred: 2+ years of driving process improvements experience; Master’s degree or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field.
