Duties

- Measure, cut, shape, and lay stone using hand tools such as chisels, hammers, and trowels to achieve precise fits and finishes
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate project execution
- Operate power tools safely to cut and sculpt stone materials efficiently while maintaining high quality standards
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other tradespeople to coordinate project timelines and specifications
- Perform restoration work on historic or damaged stone structures, ensuring authenticity and structural integrity
- Apply caulking and sealing techniques during installation to prevent water infiltration and enhance durability




- Use heavy equipment when necessary for lifting heavy stones or moving materials around the site

Requirements

- Proven experience in construction with a focus on masonry or stonework; prior experience as a Stone Mason preferred
- Proficiency with hand tools such as chisels, hammers, trowels, and levels; familiarity with power tools used in masonry work
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately for precise installation
- Knowledge of renovation and restoration techniques for historic or damaged stone structures
- Experience operating heavy equipment safely for lifting and positioning large stones or materials
- Strong understanding of masonry principles including mortar mixing, caulking application, and surface finishing
- Excellent attention to detail coupled with physical stamina to perform demanding manual tasks in various weather conditions
