Casual - On Contract (As needed, to cover for the Spanish Language Instructor)

Are you passionate about teaching Spanish to adults? Do you have experience and/or training in teaching Spanish as a Second Language? Have you developed lesson plans adhering to the CEFR framework?

That is what the Language Centre at Care for Newcomers is all about, and we just happen to have an exciting opportunity for you!

We’re looking for an energetic, responsible individual with excellent interpersonal skills individual to be our Substitute Spanish Language Instructor to deliver engaging, CEFR-aligned instruction and foster an inclusive learning environment for adult learners, prepared by the Spanish Language Instructor.

A little about what you bring to the Language Centre at Care for Newcomers:

- A passion and focus on teaching Spanish as a second language to adult learners.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or Applied Linguistics; 1-2 years of adult teaching experience; Native-like proficiency in Spanish, knowledge of CEFR and Communicative Language Teaching (CLT); legal work eligibility in Canada.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or ELE certification; 3+ years of experience with multilingual adult groups; digital literacy and blended learning expertise.




- Awareness of philosophy and methods of adult education.
- Availability in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays for our evening classes, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, to cover for the Spanish Language Instructor when they are away.
- Organizational skills with the ability to work independently and with other colleagues.

A little about what you’ll do:
- Instruction: Deliver communicative, learner-centered lessons; integrate cultural elements of the Spanish-speaking world; encourage learner autonomy.
- Assessment: Monitor student progress using CEFR-aligned tools; provide timely, constructive feedback; maintain accurate attendance and records.
