Counter Sale Representative

Position Summary

This position is responsible for serving walk-in customers and contractors, processing sales orders, completing keying and key cabinet preps, and ensuring inventory levels are maintained and organized. This role is a key customer service role that supports daily operations and contributes to revenue, customer relationships, and new customers.

Responsibilities

Counter Sales

- Greet and assist walk-in customers, contractors, and service technicians
- Provide product knowledge on doors, frames, hardware, division 10, and related items
- Prepare quotes and process sales orders, returns, and credits accurately
- Prepare small estimates for jobs that are ordered through the front counter
- Answer phone call inquiries and redirect calls accordingly
- Build strong relationships with repeat customers and service crews
- Maintain accurate pricing in the accounting software
- Maintain a clean, organized, professional counter and front-end area
- Accurately code front counter orders in the accounting system

Keying & Preparation

- Cut keys accurately according to codes or master key systems
- Maintain key machines and key room in clean and working order




- Ensure strict adherence to master key system security protocols
- Prepare key cabinets and cut job keys as per PM's keying schedule
- Prepare front counter orders for pick up ensuring everything is labeled and complete
- Record keying data accurately in the system

Inventory Control

- Maintain steady inventory levels
- Coordinate inventory use with PM's for projects that require products fast
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with full physical inventory
- Update system inventory when stock is received or taken
- Flag low-stock items and recommend replenishment levels
- Order approved stock replenishments
- Maintain organized shelves and bins

Secondary Responsibilities

- Support shipping/receiving during high volume periods
- Support hardware labeling during high volume periods

Performance Expectations

- Maintain high accuracy in keying, quoting, and inventory counting
- Provide rapid, friendly, professional customer service
- Complete counter orders with minimal errors
- Keep the counter and inventory areas cleaned and organized
- Great attention to details
