About Us

Heat View designs and manufactures industrial heat treatment control systems and automation solutions. Our platform spans embedded Linux, industrial controllers (Beckhoff EtherCAT), HMI software, cloud-based monitoring, and custom integrations for OEM customers. We're a lean technical team solving complex automation challenges. We also provide technical support for the manufacturing and service branches.

The Role

We're building out our Systems Integration & Operations function and need someone who can own our infrastructure, support, customer configurations, documentation and system integrations—and eventually serve as backup for all technical operations. You'll work across firmware, software, networking, and customer systems, using AI-assisted development to accelerate your work.

What You'll Do

- Deploy and configure automation systems — set up industrial control consoles, Beckhoff TwinCAT systems, Weintek HMIs, and embedded Linux devices for customer systems
- Manage network infrastructure — configure and troubleshoot cellular routers, VPN, and industrial networking for customer sites
- Support and troubleshoot customer systems — diagnose issues with deployed hardware/software, gather diagnostics, and coordinate fixes
- Use AI-assisted development — work with Claude Code to build integrations, automation scripts, and tools without needing to be a solo coding expert
- Document configurations and processes — maintain transparent runbooks, deployment procedures, and system documentation

What We're Looking For

Required:

- 3–5 years of systems engineering, IT operations, automation engineering, or infrastructure experience
- Experience with industrial automation or embedded systems (PLCs, controllers, or automation frameworks)
- Networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, VPN, routing, firewalls, cellular connectivity
- Familiarity with configuration management, deployment automation, or scripting (Bash, Python, or similar)




- Problem-solving mindset and ability to troubleshoot across hardware and software layers
- Git version control and basic software development workflows

Nice-to-have:

- Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT or similar industrial automation platforms
- Python scripting or ability to read and modify code
- Experience with monitoring, logging, or observability tools
- Basic understanding of CE marking or regulatory compliance requirements

Important: You don't need to be a full-stack developer or DevOps wizard. What we need is someone who understands system architecture, can configure complex systems, and can troubleshoot across multiple layers. We essentially need someone we can train up fast to hand work off to.

This Role Over Time

Your first 3–6 months: learn our platform architecture, customer deployments, and internal infrastructure; take on support tasks and system configurations under guidance.

Over 6–12 months: own system deployments independently, handle troubleshooting and escalations, improve our infrastructure and automation.

Longer term: become the backup for all technical operations—able to step in for any part of the system—and drive systems improvements and scaling initiatives.

Location & Work London, Ontario, Canada. We support customers across North America and Europe, with a mix of remote system management and occasional on-site installation/troubleshooting.

This is not a role that can support immigration or requirements, so we are looking for someone who has valid work status in Canada.

Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
