Position Overview:

- Position: Part Time - Tactical Field Support Guards
- Location: Toronto, Downtown region properties
- Schedule: 8 hours, 12 hours Continental Days, Nights, and Rotation Schedule
- Hours: 40 to 44 hours per week
- Salary: $20 per hour

Job Duties:
- Provide operational support to your service team (i.e. filling in for absences, covering last-minute book-offs, fulfilling emergency coverage requests)
- Crowd control and ability to give directions and answer queries from the public
- Respond to all emergency response needs such as providing first aid, missing person etc.
- Assist personnel, staff, and visitors as required
- De-escalating stressful situations such as individuals experiencing mental health crisis
- Conduct access control duties and provide escorts as required
- Writing Daily reports and incident reports
- Responding to various calls for service as well as providing first responder services for all security and life safety emergencies and incidents
- Patrolling the interior and exterior of premises
- Enforcing property regulations, Criminal Code and legislative statutes
- Securing restricted areas
- Facilitating access of vehicles and pedestrians at fixed posts
- Obtaining statements and collecting information for Incident Reports
- Performing Customer Service-related functions
- Identifying Safety Hazards

Required experience:

- Ability to read/write/speak English at a working level
- Previous security and/or customer service experience (1+ year experience)




- Strong communication skills and conflict resolution experience
- Working knowledge of computer application skills
- Police Foundations/ Law Enforcement Diploma is an asset
- Previous experience in mental health first aid/ crisis intervention an asset

Working Conditions:

- Parking is not available at the site if you are driving.
- Role is Patrol Guard in a Large Commercial Office Complex
- Uniform includes Tactical boots, belt, Protective Vest (approx 15lbs of equipment) which are to be worn at all times on shift
- Guards walk on average 25,000 - 30,000 steps per day, and are on patrol for approx. 6 hours in an 8 hour shift.
- Required to work, if necessary, various rotating shifts on short notice and be available for work in a 24x7x365 workplace.
