Job Title – Team Member

Alexandra’s Pizza is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and friendly Team Member to join our team in Charlottetown. This is a hands-on position where you will be responsible for both food preparation/cooking and cashier/customer service duties.

No previous experience is required. We provide training to help you learn our procedures, food preparation standards, customer service expectations, and point-of-sale system. Previous restaurant, cooking, or cashier experience will be considered an asset.

The Company

Since the first Alexandra’s opened in 1991 on Queen Street in Halifax, we have been serving pizza and other fast food to the people of the Halifax Peninsula. Our loyal customers helped spread the word about the “best pizza around,” and Alexandra’s has since expanded to different locations across Nova Scotia.

In 2018, we opened our Charlottetown location and quickly became a favourite among residents in the area.

Although we are known for our large variety of pizza combinations and fresh, hot pizza slices available throughout the week, Alexandra’s also serves a selection of sandwiches, salads, snacks, and, of course, our famous poutine.

The Position

We are looking for a Team Member who can work comfortably in both the kitchen and front counter. The successful candidate will help prepare and cook food, take customer orders, operate the cash register/POS system, maintain cleanliness, and ensure customers receive friendly and efficient service.

The ideal candidate is dependable, works well in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable interacting with customers, and is willing to learn different areas of the restaurant.

Pay: $17–$18/hour depending on experience

Vacation: 10 vacation days per year

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook pizzas, sandwiches, poutine,



and other menu items according to Alexandra’s standards
- Prepare ingredients and complete basic food preparation and kitchen tasks
- Take customer orders in person and by phone
- Operate the cash register/POS system and handle cash and card transactions accurately
- Provide friendly and professional customer service
- Assemble and package customer orders accurately
- Ensure orders are prepared and served in a timely manner
- Set up and stock kitchen and front-counter stations with necessary supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dining area, and workstations
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
- Check and maintain food and supply levels and report shortages when necessary
- Help with receiving, storing, and organizing supplies
- Work cooperatively with other team members during busy periods
- Maintain a positive and qualified attitude with customers and co-workers
- Perform other general restaurant duties as required

Skills & Qualifications
- Previous cooking, restaurant, or cashier experience is an asset but not required
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Reliable and punctual
- Friendly and customer-service oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Basic English communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with restaurant work

Training will be provided.
