Job Summary

We are currently hiring a Construction Labourer / Operator to join our underground utilities Structures Team. This role involves supporting underground telecommunications construction, including breakouts and tie-ins to existing infrastructure, manhole cable placing, rodding and roping, excavation, and general site operations.

The successful candidate must hold a valid AZ Driver’s Licence and be available to occasionally operate company commercial vehicles and transport construction equipment between job sites as required.

Responsibilities

- Perform breakouts and tie-ins to existing underground telecommunications infrastructure
- Assist with manhole cable placing, rodding and roping operations
- Support underground utility construction, excavation, and hydrovac operations
- Perform site preparation, shoveling, grading, backfilling, and restoration as required
- Load and unload construction materials, equipment, and tools
- Occasionally operate company commercial vehicles, including dump trucks and aerial trucks (RBD), as required
- Float and transport construction equipment, including mini excavators, between job sites




- Perform daily vehicle inspections and ensure equipment is operated safely
- Follow all company safety procedures and daily job site protocols
- Maintain organized and safe job sites
- Assist with traffic control and site setup when required

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of telecommunications construction experience
- Valid Ontario AZ Driver’s Licence required
- Clean driver's abstract
- Experience with underground telecommunications infrastructure, including breakouts, tie-ins, manhole cable placing, rodding and roping, is an asset
- Experience operating commercial vehicles and transporting construction equipment is an asset
- Experience in underground utilities, civil construction, or restoration work is an asset
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to work effectively as part of a crew and follow direction from supervisors
