We are seeking a Temporary Administrative Assistant to provide maternity leave coverage in our busy dental office.
A Level II Dental Assistant is considered an asset, although Level I Dental Assistants may also be considered. The successful candidate should have a solid understanding of dental terminology, codes, procedures and the day-to-day operations of a dental practice.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Manage a multi-line telephone system
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to patient questions and concerns
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
- Handle patient billing and payments
- Verify and update insurance information
- Knowledge of MCP Teleclaim an asset but not required
- Write and send patient referrals
- Add treatment plans under patient profile
- Send pre-authorizations to insurance for coverage estimates
- Follow up with patients regarding estimates or booking appointments
- Assist with filing
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Assist with various other administrative tasks as required
- Provide chairside dental assisting support when needed, depending on experience and qualifications
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience working in a dental office is required
- Levell II Dental Assistant certification is an asset; Level I may be considered
- Knowledge of dental codes, terminology, procedures, and insurance processes is required
- Previous administrative or reception experience is an asset
- Strong telephone etiquette and skilled communication skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Stong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize responsibilties in a busy environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional, positive, and patient-focused attitued
- Ability and willingness to assist chairside when required
