Responsibilities

- Install torch-on modified-bitumen roofing systems on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

- Prepare roof surfaces by removing old materials, cleaning, priming, and repairing damaged areas.

- Measure, cut, position, and install roofing membranes, base sheets, and cap sheets.

- Use propane torches to heat and seal roofing membrane seams and surfaces.

- Install flashing around vents, drains, skylights, walls, curbs, and other roof penetrations.

- Apply roofing adhesives, sealants, primers, and other materials as required.

- Inspect completed work for proper adhesion, seams, flashing, drainage, and water-tightness.

- Repair leaks and damaged roofing systems.

- Safely operate roofing tools, propane equipment, ladders, and other equipment.

- Follow workplace safety procedures, including fire prevention and fall protection requirements.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

- Work safely at heights and in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

- Previous roofing experience,



preferably with torch-on/modified-bitumen systems.

- Knowledge of roofing materials, installation techniques, and flashing details.

- Ability to safely operate a propane torch.

- Comfortable working at heights and performing physically demanding work.

- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew.

- Valid driver’s licence may be required.

- Fall protection and other applicable safety certifications are an asset.
